In the Studio

I still use black paper sometimes, but it’s usually ‘mi Tientes’ sanded paper and I am experimenting with various other mid-tone colors and also putting down washes or patches of underlying colors I want to show through. I feel as though my paintings have moved on from dark and melancholy to lighter subjects; daytime scenes and happier moods. With the vibrant colors of fall, one can hardly help but be vibrating with oranges and yellows. With the fresh winds of the season, come the winds of change.
